Running Contacts

duration
6 lessons, 12 weeks of feedback + 2 weeks of a break in between
requirements
- minimal age: 7 months
- minimal equipment: a mat to start with (and then access to dog-walk later on) and RC DVD
- minimal space: 15 m
- all levels welcome

January Running Contacts class, starting on January 10, is now open for registration! Most work is done with no equipment and just a mat: working on turns, soft turns, straight exits, and various handling before any DW work, so you don't need much room to start off.

Here are some graduation videos of dogs from the previous classes. I chose different sizes and only those who started from zero so you can see how far  they got in less than 4 months:

The class is appropriate for total beginners (from 7 months old on), retrains from 2on2off and all who have running contacts already (even if not trained with a mat), but want to work on various exits or any other aspect of RC - all the feedback is completely individual, so all levels are welcome. I will also publish all the lessons right at the start of the class, so you can continue from wherever you currently are.

Minimum age for this class is 7 months and the minimum equipment is now just the DVD + a mat - like a towel or a doormat - and later on occasional access to a dog-walk, ideally one that can be lowered.

This class is 12 weeks long (+2 weeks of a catch up break in between) and starts on January 10, but you can register already now and then enter the classroom HERE.

Please note that only those who took this class with the SAME dog before qualify as repeaters!

Please make sure your are registered and logged in before you proceed to paying with paypal - this will ensure you will get your correct access automatically.
participant (includes a RC video download link) - 310 EUR / cca 330 USD

in case you already have the DVD, choose this participant option - 270 EUR / cca 280 USD

auditor/repeater/2nd dog - 230 EUR / cca  240 USD (DVD is not required for auditors, but is highly recommended)

Is it possible to have a dvd sent instead of the download?

    • LoLaBu February 3, 2018 at 20:10 Log in to Reply

Yes. Will e-mail you for more details.

I inadvertently hit the 1st option with video download (which I haven’t received link yet since I just signed up)instead of the 2nd option with no DVD. Is there a way that I can get the difference reimbursed? Thank you.

O.k., sure, we will refund you the difference today!

Can I sign up now as an auditor and just start at the beginning in terms of the video lessons and other materials? And will it be available then for me once the class is finished since I will be ‘behind’? Thanks! Would like to get started rather than wait till August.

      Yes and yes.

I have done so. It is now showing as one of my classes (running contacts as auditor). But I am not seeing how or where to access the videos and lesson pdfs.

Hi! I am keen to do the Running Contacts class in August. How do I register to audit the Feb class in the meantime? Thanks 🙂

    • LoLaBu May 15, 2018 at 12:45 Log in to Reply

You can register to the current class by clicking on PayPal button above. Upon payment, you will automatically get access to the classroom. You can also ask questions as an auditor.

      • Rochelle Jager May 15, 2018 at 13:07 Log in to Reply

So would that mean paying 170 EUR as an auditor now, then 260 EUR to join the class as a participant in August? Or do I just join as a participant in August now (would that give me access as an auditor in the earlier class?)
        Thanks again!

        • LoLaBu May 15, 2018 at 13:10 Log in to Reply

No, you would be a repeater then, so it would be 170 in August then (+ DVD). REgistration for August class only opens in July and it doesn’t give you the access to previous classes no…

No, it’s just not open yet. Registration for August class opens on July 10, so check back then!

    Hello!

Do I qualify as repeter if I have taken your RC online class 2 years ago with the same dog? Or by repeter you only mean those who have taken your new RC class where you use mat already in the beginning? 🙂

    Thank you!
    Saara V.

    • LoLaBu July 4, 2018 at 22:15 Log in to Reply

You qualify as a repeater yes if joining with the same dog, even if it was before mat work.

      • Alan Gardner July 15, 2018 at 22:07 Log in to Reply

Does the repeater include video / DVD link?

        • LoLaBu July 16, 2018 at 10:09 Log in to Reply

No, repeater option doesn’t require nor include the video link. BUt you can get it on a request for the same price as participants (40e) if you want.

I was just going to ask the same question as I’ve taken the RC course in 2015! so I’ll sign up as repeater and would like the DVD download as well!!

    • LoLaBu July 31, 2018 at 11:18 Log in to Reply

O.k., I’ll send you the money request for 40e tonight!

Hi Silvia, Kat is actually 6 and half months old. Can I subscribe to the class?
She will be 7 months old on 17 of august.

Hi! Tot and I would love to play RC games! We’re still working on our play though, and I’m not finding it super easy to get her to run full speed. She won’t run like crazy for a thrown toy for example. She will run though, and work for toys, only not as manic as Snarf! So I’m wondering if you think these things will need to be worked out separately before this class? Or can we join and work with treats and see how far the play takes us?

we should have a really good toy play ready to take this class, or if we can join and

    • LoLaBu August 2, 2018 at 21:32 Log in to Reply

That’s o.k. yes -- it should work perfectly o.k. if she drives to food well! And hopefully we can get her to like toys with food in it too!
