- minimal equipment: a mat to start with (and then access to dog-walk later on) and RC DVD
- minimal space: 15 m
- all levels welcomeJanuary Running Contacts class, starting on January 10, is now open for registration! Most work is done with no equipment and just a mat: working on turns, soft turns, straight exits, and various handling before any DW work, so you don't need much room to start off.
Here are some graduation videos of dogs from the previous classes. I chose different sizes and only those who started from zero so you can see how far they got in less than 4 months:
The class is appropriate for total beginners (from 7 months old on), retrains from 2on2off and all who have running contacts already (even if not trained with a mat), but want to work on various exits or any other aspect of RC - all the feedback is completely individual, so all levels are welcome. I will also publish all the lessons right at the start of the class, so you can continue from wherever you currently are.
Minimum age for this class is 7 months and the minimum equipment is now just the DVD + a mat - like a towel or a doormat - and later on occasional access to a dog-walk, ideally one that can be lowered.
This class is 12 weeks long (+2 weeks of a catch up break in between) and starts on January 10, but you can register already now and then enter the classroom HERE.
Please note that only those who took this class with the SAME dog before qualify as repeaters!
Please make sure your are registered and logged in before you proceed to paying with paypal - this will ensure you will get your correct access automatically.participant (includes a RC video download link) - 310 EUR / cca 330 USD |
in case you already have the DVD, choose this participant option - 270 EUR / cca 280 USD |
auditor/repeater/2nd dog - 230 EUR / cca 240 USD (DVD is not required for auditors, but is highly recommended) |

For RC, I see the DW, but will we also learn how to adapt for Aframe?
Yes, we master AF as well. But it’s super easy -- I always say you get AF for free if you take the time to train DW.
Hi Silvia,
Have you ever had someone sign up to use this class(from very beginning) only for training running AF ? I understand you get the AF for free if using class for DW but is it possible to use the class to solely train the AF using your same DW method?
Thanks !Lisa
Yes, no problem, have had several people working on just AF yes.
Hello Silvia. Thank you for helping me connect to your website.
My question is this. With my dog we made the RC up to the official height but we did with carpet. When I get the problem is that I jump and not touch the contact. As I write down then beginner or repeater. Thank you
Glad it works now! If you didn’t take the class before, you take a participant option. And then you post in Advanced part of a sub-forum.
Hi Sylvia, Looking forward to new perspectives on RC and to learn how to develop a better eye. My Aussie is running the contacts, just not consistently due to me not being able to mark her good hits timely enough or at all and rewarding too many bad hits. Developing that good eye is just so critical so I’m all in for this to do better.
Yes, seeing and marking hits correctly is the essential part of it -- we’ll certainly be working on that a lot in the class!
Hi Silvia,
What are the dates of the 2 week break please ?
Thanks,
Lisa
The break starts on October 5th, when we leave for AWC.
Hi Silvia, do I register for the class just by paying the fee?
Yes. You get access to the class automatically then.
How often do you run the running contacts class. I have start d training RC with Rhythm with my trainer and she says she uses your method. My dog is 7 months old (and currently enrolled in your foundation class) and we seem to have slowed in our progress because he leaps. Is ere a problem solving component to the class?
Yes, basically the whole class is problem solving -- no need for my help if there are no problems to solve! 🙂 So you’re welcome to join. I usually have 2 classes per year, so normally next one will be in February/March.
I have payed and I assume that the RC class has started, bu where is it ;-).
I sent you e-mail with links right after payment -- I’ve just sent it again -- check spam folder maybe if you don’t see it? I also fixed your access -- looks like you were not logged in when paying, so you didn’t get it automatically. Now I fixed it, so the class should also appear on your right side bar when logged in.
Hello,
It’s possible start your running contacts now??
Yes of course -- we’ve just started!
I am so happy to hear you have another RC class in February/March. My new puppy will be 7 months old then and will be able to take it. I can’t wait!!! When will you have a puppy class? How old does she have to be to start that?
Next Puppy Class starts beginning of November, so that should work just perfectly for your pup 🙂 There is no age limitation for Puppy Class.
