Ok! Thank you very much for these invaluable advice! As soon as I can I post you the video of graduation! Besides I shall begin the class ” Agility foundations” in October. That adorned me to be a very good idea. For “running contact” class we shall see how my puppy evolves. Thank you very much still, I make as quickly as possible for the video!!! 🙂

Hi Silvia, posting my heeling video I did with music. This was over a month ago and I can see now I need to do an updated video of his heeling, its really coming. Glad to have videos to see our progress. This was fun having him heel with Trudy though.
Love it -- the part with both of them is sure great! Can’t wait to see the updated version too!
I will be videoing next week. The other night we were on our walk and had to pass a man with two dogs that he obviously wanted to avoid walking by me. We were on a sidewalk and then it was the road and a fence with houses, pretty hard to avoid walking past. So I thought I need to focus my dogs on heeling with me. I did get my treats out, and told both dogs to assume heel position, one on the right, the other on the left and we heeled right past them and my dogs didnt even notice there were two dogs. I didnt hold the treat to their nose or anything but I got the treats ready to reward once they were finished (or past the dogs). I was very pleased with how they did. I dont think I needed the treats and will work on hidden rewards and bonuses for doing the job in future.
I guess you three made quite an impression!!! 🙂
I think, I think I will videoing this weekend. We did not master all tricks completely, but Pepi learned a lot. Yesterday I wanted to lokk if the tricks are still working, and I was surprised! Pepi did sidelegs up at the left side free, and with four feet in a bowl I took a very small one, and she stepped in, and could stay there in a good balance for a while. I was very proud on her! But the backward slalom only works from the left to the right side, not from right to the left, I don’t know why. Limping doesnt work free, she has her paw on my hand, but I hope we will get it once. Cik and cap works in both directions, also with multiple wraps, but she does it slow. We had a long time for free situps, but this is very good now, but from standup back to situp she needs still a little help.
I’m looking forward to foundation class in october. Do you think this would be the right class for us? I have not done any agility work until now. Should I do sth before the class starts?
Sure, Foundation class will be perfect for her! She needs to know cik&cap and you can as well play with a tunnel some before the class, but it usually only takes few tries anyway! Looking forward to the video!
Hello Silvia, hello classmates!
This is Ingrid, Melindas mum, writing. I have just returned from 2 months of rehab today. And finally got back my girls Melinda (my daughter) and Malaika, our huge puppy. (Both still recognized me, what a relief 🙂 I really missed them very, very much.)
During the last 2 months, Malaika had a nearly complete break with tricks, and also with the RC class May we subscribed, because unfortunately she lived nearly all the time with her real owner. 🙁 . But I hope she will catch up soon, in every way. Her enthousiasm when we got her back was without any border (as suitable for a Boorder Collie, isnÄt it?)
So now I finallay will be able to work on our graduation video with Malaika and Melinda, and also, I already look forward to read and watch everything what happened in the meantime here: it’s not just Malaika, who has to catch up a lot!
Tomorrow, I first have to watch all your graduation videos, dear classmates, and it will be a fine day, I think! 🙂
So very glad to be back (and healthy) again,
best regards from North Germany
Ingrid
PS: Just read about your wonderful success at the EM, oh what an amazing teamwork! Congrats!
Glad you are back, hope to see you in Foundation class in October too!!
Ok, so almost finished with Cobys graduation video (better late than never) 😉
Yay! I’m sure it will be a fun one!!!
our video is done, but I have to shorten it. I think we’ll finish it this week, or at the weekend 🙂
Cobys Graduation Video, we still have lots of tricks that we have not mastered yet, so is considering joining the next puppy class that is just starting. We have had a lot of fun training all the tricks and Coby sure just loves to train, and I love his wagging tail 😀
What a happy face! Loved the rings on the pole, some really nice thinking there 😉 I see you also have a dog that loves to do some leg weaving! I’ve got one of those too.
Been fun to watch Coby in action.
Shona
Thanks, and yes Coby really does love the leg weaving, almost as much as he loves to spin around 😉
Well, you sure mastered many tricks!!! But if you want to join the next class anyway, you are of course welcome -- I love seeing his wagging tail too! 🙂 The backing up on that fence is sure impressive! What a coordination! Great precision with those small bowls and rings too! And too cute with unrolling that towel! Let me know which video you want for graduation!
What a cute dog, loads of drive, you will have tons of fun with him
Thanks, and sure do have lots of fun 🙂
SUPER job with all the tricks!!! Love the leg weaving in a circle & the extra tricks! Coby is adorable & looks so happy to work with you!! 🙂
Thanks 🙂 I think I will join, cause we are having some problems with the limping trick, he is great at standing and lifting his leg, but I can not get him to move with it lifted, and also I would really love teaching him the backwards weave/figure8 and we have not gotten to start on those yet.
I would really love ready-steady-go 🙂
Again thanks for an inspiring class.
O.k., sent! Can you get at least some movement -- like weight shifts or something when one leg is in the air? If not, maybe try with a bit of a support of your hand for the paw in the air?
I think he does do some weight shifts, but I am not sure if he knows he does that, or its more eagernes to get the reward? Don’t know if this make any sense?
I know what you mean, my PyrSheps do that too -- that’s why they were MUCH quicker to get the limping as my BCs! 🙂 -- I just started with that and shaped from there.
Ok, it is probably my timing that is the problem then 😉
hi Mette,
I can’t see your video because of the music you used. Would it be possible to remove the music? I would like to see Cobys Graduation Video
Ok, thanks for letting me know 🙂
Here is the video without the music:
What fun to watch Coby! It is so obvious, that he loves working with you, and his instant smile is gorgeous!
Compliments from North Germany
Melinda, Malaika & Ingrid
thanks very much! loved watching your video. Coby is such a smart and cute dog! How old is he?
Thanks 🙂 He is 5 years old 🙂
