Agility Foundations

100min long, includes pdf file with course maps, 50 eur/57usd for DVD, 48 eur/54usd for download

6 years after the first Foundations DVD... - here comes a new one, with all the important things I've learned in the last 6 years and all the new challenges the courses brought in last years! All new video material, many new topics, a bit different order and emphasis and tons of new challenges!!! The hardest part of this project was fitting all the info in 100min!

Foundations Revisited DVD pretty much covers it all: from getting a puppy interested in playing with you, getting them to fetch, getting interest in static toy, building rock solid stays, restrains, warm ups and cool downs, all the steps towards tight turns, sends, independent pushes, threadles and serpentines, building a great come to hand, verbal discrimination, obstacle discrimination, tunnel sends, traps and turns (hard and soft turns), extension and collection, different crosses and handling, see-saw, weaves, tire, long, double and wall jump, how to choose sequences and adjust them to your dog, how to handle mistakes and more.

It takes you through 6 lessons, from pre-obstacles work to sequences and course work. Includes a pdf file with all the maps of various exercises and sequences. Length: 100min

Hi Sylvia, I got your DVD’s yesterday, Foundation and weaves, love it 🙂
Just a question, you talk about cip and cap can also be 1 word. Since i’m struggling with left and right anyway (which I will teach my dog too), I’m thinking of only using one word for the wraps. I just would like to know if you think that would give us a disadvantage later in agility.
    Thanks, Monique

It can certainly help in some situations to have two different directions -- especially if your body language is not perfectly clear sometimes. But it’s not all that common you would need that, so it’s certainly more important to say it in time as to have two… But it’s really not all that hard to have two -- you can prepare your cues on every course walk and repeat them together with the sequence.

Thank Sylvia, I will train for 2 cues 🙂

    Hi Silvia,
I ordered the Foundation Fun in download format yesterday but unfortunately my connection (which is usually very fast and stable…go figure..) cut out, cancelling the download :(. Now I cannot start it up again without a link. is there any way you could send me a new link? Eager to start 🙂 🙂

    Thanks,
    Marloes

    bonjour

    cordialement,
    isabelle braud

That’s enough for most of it! It would be even better to have two tunnels and maybe some stick in the ground poles for the weaves.

Hi Syliva, I’m working my way through your DVD and signed up for the course, but would really want to have an answer on this question. Do you use left and right for bends? I’m getting small and big bends at agility courses at the club, and Zip goes too fast to see me and I don’t want to use cip and cap, since that needs to be a close wrap. So how do I tell my fast dog, who’s ahead of me where to go? Thanks

    • LoLaBu May 8, 2016 at 11:35 Log in to Reply

Yes, I use left and right for turns with collection and cik&cap for turns with collection.

    Hi Silvia,

I have ordered the Foundation Fun video as part of the seminar of Foundations that I am inscribed in -so eager to start! ;)- and the system said that I would receive a link to download the video but so far I haven’t received the email. Could you be so kind to send it again please? I wouldn’t want to miss it 😉
A huge thank you in advance.

I checked and I sent it the same day you paid, on 5th May. I’ve just sent it again -- maybe check your spam folder if you don’t see it?

Thank you for the feedback! Great job so far! You can focus on sends now, so adding more&more speed and distance into the turns.

Would it be more beneficial for me to get your foundations video or your speed video to start training for better speed? We just started trialing in Novice. Here’s where we’re at now. Thanks!

I think both would be great, but first things first -- so I would start with speed video maybe. Yay for the Q -- she sure is really well trained already!!!
