Agility Foundations

100min long, includes pdf file with course maps, 50 eur/57usd for DVD, 48 eur/54usd for download

6 years after the first Foundations DVD... - here comes a new one, with all the important things I've learned in the last 6 years and all the new challenges the courses brought in last years! All new video material, many new topics, a bit different order and emphasis and tons of new challenges!!! The hardest part of this project was fitting all the info in 100min!

Foundations Revisited DVD pretty much covers it all: from getting a puppy interested in playing with you, getting them to fetch, getting interest in static toy, building rock solid stays, restrains, warm ups and cool downs, all the steps towards tight turns, sends, independent pushes, threadles and serpentines, building a great come to hand, verbal discrimination, obstacle discrimination, tunnel sends, traps and turns (hard and soft turns), extension and collection, different crosses and handling, see-saw, weaves, tire, long, double and wall jump, how to choose sequences and adjust them to your dog, how to handle mistakes and more.

It takes you through 6 lessons, from pre-obstacles work to sequences and course work. Includes a pdf file with all the maps of various exercises and sequences. Length: 100min

Hello silvia, i got this DVD and was working on some tricks and basics like sends, restrained recalls and some tricks, but i want to start doing the cik/cap , but i have a question about that. i Started with around an object, one direction one cue… but now im confused when introducion the jumps…. i was usind cik for my right hand send an cap for my left, but now my cap is always a go between the jump and the cik is always go around the jump…. how do i send my dogs around the left pole?
I do not know if this is intended or not…. and when we start to use 2 jumps when do i use cik and when do i use cap…. maybe im just getting this wrong or im just over thinking it…

Cik&cap is never backside approach (you need push/out cue for that -- and then you can add cik/cap as needed if there is push+wrap), but always front approach -- cik around left wing, cap around right wing… -- No matter how many jumps there are… -- cik&cap is a wrap on the one you cue?

hello silvia, I was very interested in the foundation course and the dvd but I wanted to ask if the dvd has a subtitle option since I do not speak english.

    • LoLaBu February 18, 2019 at 18:25 Log in to Reply

No, no subtitle option, but we have several people in each class who don’t speak English, use Google translate and just look at the videos and they are doing really well, so it can certainly be done!

This is still the old one. The new one will be out mid-March and is called Foundations Revisited.

    Hi Silvia,

I’ve been training for 2 years with my first dog (she’s 4 at this moment), she’s doing ok but I want more independent weaves. Should I get your Weaves DVD, or is there enough info about that topic in this one? Nice regards

    • LoLaBu April 4, 2019 at 20:13 Log in to Reply

I think this one should be enough to get the concept! And then if you need more entries and proofing ideas, Weaves can come handy.

The video material, sequences and explanations are all new and some skills are new too (verbal discrimination, threadle cue, soft turns cues etc.), but of course, some of the skills covered are the same (wraps, pushes etc.). But it’s definitely different enough that it’s worth to have both yes.

    Hello Silvia,
I am watching your DVD Fondations Revisited and I have a question : what is the difference between the come to hand cue ( name of the dog) and the in-in cue? I saw you use in-in for tunnels ( hard entries) and for threadles, why we don’t use come to hand cue for this? and when do you use come to hand cue ?

    • LoLaBu May 29, 2019 at 16:22 Log in to Reply

Cth is handler focus cue, used for bypassing obstacles and having the dog follow. In-in is obstacle focus cue, so it gives a faster and tighter threadle line as cth can when trained properly since the dog knows right away which obstacle is next, without even looking at you.
