= 12 weeks of feedback + 2 weeks of a break in between
- minimal equipment needed: 4 jumps, 2 tunnels, Foundations Revisited DVD, channel and see-saw (if working on weaves&see-saw as well)
- appropriate for all levels, total beginners to experienced dogs who could use better turns, more independence or speed
This class follows Foundations Revisited DVD. This is why the format has been changed from the original Foundations Fun class program:
What is different is the order, the emphasis, and the exercises and I also added some new topics, so the transition to Xtreme Foundations should be super smooth - this class certainly doesn't lack in providing MANY challenges. And definitely covers many topics!
This class is appropriate for all levels, from total beginners from 7 months on - and also for experienced agility dogs - I promise to keep everybody challenged!!! All feedback completely individual.
Minimum equipment needed: 2 tunnels, 4 jumps and if you want to work on see-saw and weaves as well: see-saw and stick to the ground and/or channel weaves (ideally both!). + Foundations Revisited DVD of course.
Topics covered: play, fetching, static toys, stays, restrains, warm ups and cool downs, tight turns, sends, pushes, threadles and serpentines, come to hand, verbal discrimination, obstacle discrimination, tunnel sends, traps and turns (hard and soft turns), extension and collection, different crosses and handling, see-saw, weaves, tire, long, double and wall jump, how to choose sequences and adjust them to your dog, how to handle mistakes and more.
We'll be starting with the first homework on October 10, but you can register and enter the classroom already now.
Some graduation videos examples:
Video length limitation per lesson is 10 minutes per lesson (in total that means 60 min in 12 weeks of the class).
The class has 6 lessons, one every 2 weeks = 12 weeks of feedback (+ 2 weeks of a catch-up break in between).
Repeaters price is for those who took Foundation before with the SAME dog.

Okay, thank you!
Hi Silvia 🙂
still haven’t had time to put Dizzy’s puppy graduation video online (but I promise, there’ll come the day…), but of course I’m looking forward to you agility foundations course and would like to participate with Dizzy.
Anyway, I’m still having problems with finding an agility trainer in real life, as the next training possibilty is about 90 km from where we live so I can’t go there too often. Still working on getting my hubby to build me those contacts, but at the moment those “Karlie” agility obstacles (8 jumps, 3 tunnels, weave poles) is all that we have at the moment. Would this be sufficient to work throug agility foundations with? You talk about only tunnels and jumps but some participants told me that you would introduce almost all obstacles there?
Also, I am almost a complete beginner at agility, I just did it for fun with my older dog as I never was lucky enough to meet a good trainer even when I was still living in Klagenfurt, where there were more possibilities then we have now. So compared to all those classmates allreaday attending trials and having had one or more agility dogs before, I am almost new to it. Would I still be able to attend the class and be able to follow your instructions without a “real life” trainer helping me with it?
And one more question: Which DVD is it, that you recommend for this course? Is it the new one called “agility diary” or the other, older one, that is also available in German language (which I, as an Austrian would prefer, but no problem if it is the one in English, just tell me, please, which one would be needed!).
Thank you so much for help and thanks, once again, for a wonderful puppy class and a great shaping experience. I learned so much about me and my dog and working with him, it was really a great working basis we can still build upon!
Sabine & Dizzy
No worries, we had plenty of total beginners in this class who had no access to in live classes/trainers -- and they did just great!!!
We are mostly focusing on jumps and tunnels, so that’s the essential part to have. It would also be good to have channel or stick in the ground weave poles so you can start with weaves (but one can skip that part if needed of course -- plenty of other things to work on!) and with contacts, we can improvise and teach everything important on a box or a plank.
The requirement for the class is Foundation DVD that exists in German as well. It’s also cool to have Agility Diary, but not required.
Looking forward to see more of Dizzy!
Thank you so much for your quick reply that was really helpfull! So Dizzy and me are looking forward to a great agility experience soon 🙂
I think he will love it! 🙂
Hi Silvia, Trynn the Kelpie and I are back for a third time for Foundations. She is 3 1/2 now and maybe we will finish all the lessons this time.
Julie and Trynn
Welcome back! The class sure gets a bit easier every next time you take it -- but still tries to keep everybody challenged! 🙂
Hi,
I would like to join the foundations class, but I am pregnant at the moment so I think it is difficult because maybe I will miss some classes. Is there going to be an other foundations class in autumn?
Greetz Marijke
No, sorry, next class will be the earliest in April… Congratulations on your baby though!!! 🙂
Hey, I was wondering some more about what the classroom setting is like? Do we all video chat? Or do you put up a video and then we watch it and work on it and then put up our own videos…? Or is it something else?
Yes, I put on homework in writing + video (that is part of Foundations DVD), then you work on it and send what you have and I comment all the videos, give suggestions etc. You can see all videos of others as well and ask questions on that as well.
Also, I was wondering how to get the DVD in DVD forum instead of download link…should I just purchase it separately and then choose the option as already having the DVD?
This will cost you a bit more, so best to choose a class + download and then send me a mail to send you a DVD and money request just for shipping (5e).
Hi!!!!
I have just registered for foundations class though it will be my 9 year old son Nacho with his dog Momo who will take the classes, they are a great team!!!
I will speak for him as he doesn´t know english.çSee you soon!!!
Sure, that’s o.k.! See you in class!
Okay, so just send you a seperate email? Should I just not download the link?
Yes, send me a mail. You can also download it if you want.
Hi, Silvia!
I would like to participate with Super and his brother Carson. I should choose participant option + 2nd dog, is it right???
Yes, that’s correct.
