Very impressive lot of tricks -- and all so well trained already!!! Now what will you do for the next 20 years dear Muffin? 🙂 Great job, video sent!

Thanks a lot Natacha! And yeah, its not that long ago since he was a tiny little furball, he grew too fast! 😀

Thanks Silvia. Hopefully for the next 20 years Muffin is gonna have a lot more fun with training, tricks, agility and ofc cuddling with me!

I really hoep I can join a foundation class, but the next one might start just before my due date (gonna be a mommy in june). But I will see how it works out. Would really love to join foundation class with Muffin!

    Hi Silvia,
I hope it is ok to ask this here. I wanted to film outside since the light is better and I ran into the very strange problem that Fusion will not do any tricks in our yard other than sit, down, left and right (the agility tricks we use outside)…is that a generalization problem? Or a stress problem? He will just look at me and sometimes randomly sit or down an whatever command I give. Do I have to re-train the indoor tricks all outside?

    • LoLaBu December 14, 2013 at 23:21 Log in to Reply

Yes, if you skipped the lesson 3 task of taking the tricks on the road and doing them in other, busy environments, then it’s normal he can’t do them elsewhere… So definitely focus on it now, starting with easy tricks and lower criteria -- should be easy to proceed then once he sees he can do tricks elsewhere as well 🙂

      • Steffi Trott December 15, 2013 at 00:49 Log in to Reply

Oh, yes I misunderstood this -- did it a couple times but didn’t understand they have to generalize it. I shaped a “wave” (right paw held up into air) and tried it outside right away today, the first times it took him a long time but I rewarded with a thrown tennis ball (his all-time favorite) and then he seemed to become faster…thanks, I will definitely focus on it now! 🙂

Thank you so much for this class! We did not get it all completed, but we had so much fun playing and cannot wait to keep learning.

In the video, the sound is a little off, and I was sitting on the floor and the seat of my pants are dirty, but …it is what I got :).

I would like the Weave DVD, if I may. I have all the rest 🙂

Very cool! Loved the heeling and 4in! Sending the video your way!

      • Jodi Kaufmann December 15, 2013 at 22:10 Log in to Reply

Thank you! Can you tell me: What should I focus on to train tricks better? Not an individual trick, but my method and process. I would like to get these tricks down better so that we can take the next trick class.

Thank you so much for the Weave DVD! More fun ahead….

        • LoLaBu December 15, 2013 at 23:00 Log in to Reply

I think the process is good, you just need to proceed further -- so once they can do side legs on angled plank, angle it further, once they can do 2on2off on one height, add more of it etc. Don’t stay at one stage too long, constantly keep adding difficulties.

    Hi, Silvia and classmates!
We finalized our graduation video. I’m sorry it’s rather long but Xavia learned and mastered so many tricks and I wanted to include as many of them as possible. Thank you very much for the great course, Silvia. Thank you for your awesome coaching and all your advice. And thank you very much classmates and your dogs for your videos and ideas. I hope to see you soon in other courses soon. What a precious experience it was!

    " rel="nofollow ugc">

Thank you for the wonderful ‘reward’ at the end, could we have Agility Foundations, please?

    • Natacha Guntz December 29, 2013 at 16:27 Log in to Reply

Congrats Mikako ! Amazing Xavia ! All the tricks are brilliant but I liked in particular the 4in (couldnt you find a smaller cup ?!!!! ahaha) and the coin in the piggy bank, wow ! Keep in touch because I look forward to seeing your dancing videos ! 😉

      • Mikako Beer December 30, 2013 at 03:10 Log in to Reply

Thank you very much, Natacha. I think Xavia is cool dog. We had so much time to fix Xavia’s stomping in a bowl but we made it. I’m glad we did it.
You are so kind, yes, please keep in touch,.I will post Xavia’s dance videos on FB when they are ready! 🙂

    • LoLaBu December 29, 2013 at 16:45 Log in to Reply

Wow! The coin in a piggy bank was impressive and so were the position transitions, ball rolling and picking up the bottle to hug! Really well mastered tricks, great job!!! Can I use your video in next post with videos from the classes? Video sent! Hope to see you in some other classes, you make such a great team!

      • Mikako Beer December 30, 2013 at 03:38 Log in to Reply

Thank you very much, Silvia. We practice a lot in fun way and Xavia wants more and more! She always looks at me like, “What is the next game, mom?” 🙂
As for the videos, yes, by all means! I’m so honored if you find them are usable.

I would like to take Agility Foundation course but I assume it won’t be sometime later next year. I would like to start my agility practice with your way right from the step one. My question here is what can we do until your next class start? I just don’t want to screw up my dog.

And, congrats on your wonderful new puppy, To!!!
I’m really looking forward to see you & To out there and have much fun! 🙂

        • LoLaBu December 30, 2013 at 12:30 Log in to Reply

Great, thank you! Foundations DVD explains beginnings really well I think, so you can just start with that and then join the class when it starts… Not sure yet when would that be -- there will for sure be one within next year, just not sure yet when.

Oh, wow cool. We shall do that!

          Hi Mikako,
I always enjoyed seeing you and Xavia in class and this video was a perfect finish for it! Wow! I was most impressed by the speed with which she put the coin into the piggy bank, so cool!!
I have one question, I hope it does not sound ignorant but do japanese BC lines have fluffier tails? Xavia has the most amazingly fluffy and longhaired tail I have seen on a BC so far 🙂

          • Mikako Beer December 31, 2013 at 14:42 Log in to Reply

Thank you very much, Steffi. So sweet.
I’m afraid that I don’t know much about BCs in Japan vs. BCs overseas. Although Xavia’s from show line, she has a very thin medium coat and it’s straight. Yes, she does have a fluffy and long-haired tail. Actually, I sometimes step on her tail by mistake. 😉

Hi Sylvia. I audited your course with my Border Collie puppy, Pippin. We had so much fun and we learned a great deal. Besides the cool tricks I feel like our participation in the class really enhanced our relationship. We did get stuck at times but that only helped me to learn to break things down into smaller pieces and to be creative in adapting some things. I loved watching all of the students’ videos from all over the world. Many of them were very impressive and those who struggled with problems at times helped me feel like I was not alone in my struggles. Your comments were extremely helpful. It seems like no matter what language was spoken we were all able to understand puppy talk. I am including a graduation video of Pippin and I hope you are able to view it. I changed http:// to httpv://. Thank you for the kind offer of a video download. I would like the Weaves video, please. Here is our graduation video:

Here is our graduation video -- finally!

Really bad conditions at present -- worst possible winter, ice everywhere on my field! So a fair bit of poor light filming indoors Im afraid.
Thanks ever so much for a great course! Im planning on doing foundations with her in spring. 🙂
Video -- oh so hard to choose! Id like the cik/cap video please.
