Loved AWC Sweden 2018!!!

le, my videos, To, trials, world championships

I was leaving to Sweden with mixed feelings, after Le scared me so much at EO that I lost all the joy for trialing... - But we sure loved Sweden!!! Great accommodation in a hut next to the woods, small and cozy hall, super friendly staff, great organization, mostly very fun courses (LOVED the speedy courses from the French judge!) and of course - Le and To looking just amazing and having sooo many of pretty much perfect runs. - All with a little tiny thing at one point, but still some of my favorite runs ever and probably my favorite trial in years!

We somehow gathered WAY more eliminations in one weekend as ever before (!!!) - but we got all the hard parts right 🙂 - and I still think those runs were actually closer to perfect as ever before and we loved every second of it and I just couldn't be more proud of them both! As I always say: it's easy to win with them with not-a-perfect-run, given their speed - but I'm actually loving almost-perfect runs with eliminations more as those not-perfect wins! Here is why I'm so super happy with our runs - a comparison of our runs against the fastest run in class (all in half-speed). Note that I'm running against some significantly faster all men' legs here! 🙂

Sooo happy with their speed and skills - they just never cease to amaze me. They make me feel like the luckiest person on a planet to have the honor to run with (or hm - after...) them. Thank you so much Le and To, you were simply the best and definitely MY world champions!

AWC Sweden 2018 - Silvia with To and Le vs. fastest run

Thanks to Tuomas Oksanen for his super cool overlays and the idea - and to Alex and Ugrin for the other videos!

To was just brilliant, she didn't knock a single bar (what was our only focus of the last year!) and was just sooo fast! And Le was looking just as amazing (or more!) as ever at 8,5 years. I somehow managed to pull her off the jump in a straight line TWICE - I used a short come to hand to correct her line, but she listened so well that she actually skipped the jump! Not sure why she pulled off that tunnel, but I think she didn't hear my tunnel cue and pulled off from that reason... I can't believe that the 3 eliminations we had were in a straight line! Very unique way to get eliminated in those courses, given we had zero problems with the hard parts!!! I might be training too difficult things and make her believe it can't be that easy as just going straight??? And then in jumping individual, not sure why she didn't see those weaves - maybe again didn't hear my cue? Not sure, maybe I was just not focused enough on easy parts - or maybe the fact that both To and Le got in heat that weekend had some effect on their runs? But we sure LOVED them all anyway! So maybe, just maybe, we won't stop trialing just yet 🙂

beautiful runs !!! i am glad to hear you had such a great time. I know exactly what you mean about the elims that ‘felt perfect’ sometimes are so much better than the clear runs ! 🙂
I just love watching you run ! and wow, really lovely courses !! in the US I can only daydream about flowy, fast courses with nice distances 😛

Ugh, I wrote a whole note and then it disappeared. ????? I seem to have trouble responding here on this main page lately?
Anyway, WOW, such a GREAT report I am so happy to read. You had me worried you would not want to be at these trails again, so I’m really happy you had such a great time. It is hard to tell while watching, so I hold my breath until your report. What a great report! WOW no bars with To????? That gives me hope, LOL!!! SO cool!!!!
I can’t imagine I could run these courses. Not without doing some major running preparation and I do LOVE to run, but wow our courses are SO tiny compared to these. What fun for the dogs, though, they get to really run and I loved watching everyone’s runs. It really did look like SO much fun!!!! And a hut in the woods. PERFECT.
When is your next big event?????

Yes, the courses were super fun!!! I would like some extra challenges though as those courses are really favoring fast runners and are actually really easy for them -- would be nice to add some challenges for them too 🙂 And hm, not sure yet what next -- maybe Amadeus -- maybe next EO/AWC tryouts 🙂

      1+

Dear Silvia, every day you teach us something really important, which we shouldn’t never forget: sometimes we win, sometimes we learn! <3
I just love the way you analize your trials and trainings every time, there is always something really important to learn by you…SIMPLY THE BEST!!! I saw all your runs and I have to say (also as a vet) your hypothesis isn't so surreal…when Ceres was on heat she was very distracted and neurotic, it was so hard to work with her I usually gave up and restart training her after some days…so why not for your girls! I think they simply are our dogs, so it's really beautiful reading your full of love words towards them….you are always a great inspiration for me!
Anyway I loved all your runs and I'm really happy to feel your moral is growing up again!!!!
COME ON SILVIA!!!!! You absolutely rock!!!! 🙂

I don’t know, I never noticed the difference in their work when they were in heat… -- but maybe their brain does work a bit different then 🙂 And of course, Le had a long break after EO, so that probably added to miscommunication. But still, super happy to see their speed and skills!!!
