The registration for January Running Contacts Class is now open as well! The class starts on January 6, but you can register and then enter the classroom already now.

To really make the class as good as possible, all participants get a package of Running Contacts That Make You Smile video + 15 weeks of feedback. That made the class even better as you will get a really good picture on what to work towards right at the start and then we can really focus on each dog rather as discussing general questions. As all the feedback is completely individual, all levels are welcome to join the class, from total beginners to those wanting to work on turns, handling after etc. Minimum age for this class is 6 months and minimum equipment is a plank (DW down ramp length) and enough room (at least 20m).

Please make sure your are registered and logged in before you proceed to paying with paypal - this will ensure you will get your correct access automatically.

participant (includes a RC video download link) - 220 EUR/275USD
in case you already have a DVD, choose this participant option - 180 EUR/225USD
auditor/repeater/2nd dog - 120 EUR/150USD (DVD is not required, but is highly recommended as we won't be discussing general questions)

    Hi Silvia, =)

I did the June 2013 RC class with my sheltie Koda, but I want to do it again with him and try with my border collie High as well. So if I choose repeater for Koda and second dog for High can I still post videos and receive feed back?

    Looking forward for the class!

Yes, anybody who did the class before, even if with another dog, qualifies as a repeater.

    Hi Silvia,

I have verry , verry bad news, see you tube, Nanou hurt himself by running, I went to vet and he gaveNanou 1 week rest, after one week his leg was desame so i dedided to go to clinic,,
in the clinic had bad news about leg of Nanou,
his cruciate ligaments are torn off,
subsequently had surgery Monday, and after words 6 weeks in a bench rest,
It is not sure if he should afterwards agility,
so I can,t take running contact course 🙁

Nanou Polona lets play 5 22

Oh no Martine… So sorry to hear that… So scary to see it on film, how fast it can happen… Poor Nanou 🙁 I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the best! Make sure to pick a very good surgeon -- most dogs in Slovenia don’t get back to agility after this injury… -- but talking with my students, it seems that most dogs who have surgery with good sports surgeons in US and also Finland do return to agility. So it’s VERY important who does the surgery + rehab after… Will they do TPLO? Keeping fingers crossed!!!

And oh, I already refunded your RC class of course.

        thanks Silvia,
        What mean TPLO ?

        • Martine December 23, 2014 at 15:49 Log in to Reply

          Hi

I already found what it means, normally No, just another ligament, I ask the clinic further info..

          • LoLaBu December 23, 2014 at 16:56 Log in to Reply

I think TPLO has better results, but maybe he is light enough that that can work as well. If you want to get a 2nd opinion, I can give you a contact of sports vet from Italy to who I went with Bi for her torn ligament. I only trust sports vets, I got a very wrong advice from the orthoped in Slovenia, so I’m very happy I searched for 2nd opinion… Italy is a bit far from you, but I think Germany might have some sports vets? Or UK of course.

You could also ask on Facebook, I got lots of very good info there…

Oh no Martine, I’m so sorry! Best wishes for Nanou’s recovery! Been there with my own dog… 🙁 I strongly recommend you finding a veterinary surgeon that is able to do either TPLO or TTA, if you wish to return to agility again. I don’t think that building a new ligament will hold in the sports like agility. Good luck! And hugs and kisses to Nanou!

I agree with Minna, based on results I’ve seen… And find one that does it on regular basis! I would think it’s more important to find a really good surgeon as to do it right away -- Minna? It’s annoying when you need to travel far for a surgery, but… -- I’m used to as our vets don’t see enough of sports dogs that they could help…

Absolutely Silvia! With sports dogs the surgery after ACL injury is usually scheduled as quickly as possible to prevent additional injuries from occurring (meniscus, cartillage, etc.) but I personally would wait a few days (or a week or two) to get my dog to an experienced surgeon using proper techniques than letting someone perform her an inadequate surgery.

My dog weights 5,5 kg, so I believe she is far smaller than Nanou, and our surgeon here in Finland said that she won’t even consider using the old school methods with her (ie. building/creating a new ligament) since she wanted her to return to agility. So she used a TTA on my dog, and the knee is better than ever! A good surgeon is definitely the key, and so is a good rehab specialist/physiotherapist after the surgery.

I hope Martine will be able to find a good surgeon for Nanou! He is such an amazing dog and I would hate to see him losing agility.

    Hi Silvia and classmates,
Can’t wait to do this class again, been having too many leaps at trials!
Very cold/snow here so only have access to a DW a few times a week, will probably finish the class in Graduates. Hope that is OK.

    Hi Silvia!

When is the last day we can join RC class? Teal cut his pad on a walk last week 🙁 it’s healing really well and I hope it will be fully healed by next week but I was hoping to make sure it won’t need stitches before I join class?
    Many thanks 🙂

You can join any time in January. I hope it heals fast!

    Hi Silvia,

I signed up for the RC class and paid with PayPal but your website wanted me to register again with a different email address and user name. I took your last Foundation Class so I’m already registered with your website and would like keep my user name and email address.

I tried logging in but it won’t let me go to the RC class. Also, I need the link for downloading the RC DVD.

Sorry to be a bother. I really want to get going with your class!

    Thanks!

    Hi Silvia!

I have a question about RC class. I wanted to join your RC class in November 15. But the problem is that I have no hall to train in the next winter. Is it possible to pay for this RC class? Because then I could start in summer when my puppy is old enough and watch the videos from the other classmates from this class. And I would also have the lists of your lessons and can read your replys from other students if I would have any problems.

    Thank you!

    • LoLaBu March 7, 2015 at 15:47 Log in to Reply

Sure, you can join as auditor as comments will close with May. So maybe best to join now, so you can still ask questions till then.
