Foundations class registration is now open!
This long-awaited class is opening today! 🙂 We'll be starting with the first homework on September 29, but you can register and enter the classroom already now to check out pre-homework 🙂 - and look around our new, improved classroom!
Our major focus will be teaching great cik&cap in order to get tight turns, great distance skills, sends, extension and collection all at the same time, putting it in sequences to make it even more fun for the dogs and to practise some basic handling. We'll also be addressing speed&motivation issues and start with weaves, see-saw and contacts. Since all the feedback is completely personalized, it's appropriate for all levels - we had everybody puppies to World Team members in this class.
We'll address all the topics addressed in Foundations video + see-saw and weaves:
Minimum age at the beginning of the class is 6 months, minimal equipment needed: 3 jumps, a tunnel and Foundations DVD. Appropriate for all levels, from total beginners to experienced dogs who could use better turns, more independence or speed. The class has 6 lessons, one every 2 weeks = 12 weeks of feedback (+ 2 weeks of a catch-up break in between).

I’ve been looking forward to take part of the Foundations class with my 3yr old male miniature schnauzer, who’s a nice clean but slow runner. After a rough casanova summer I’ve decided to neuter him and it’s scheduled for the week right before the course would start. So we would be at least 2 weeks behind the schedule as I’m not sure how soon I can allow him to start exercising again. Do you think it’s possible for us to participate or would you rather recommend an auditor spot and/or wait for the next course?
Yes, I think it shouldn’t be too hard to catch up -- many people have to skip some weeks from that or another reason and do just fine. It’s no problem to send whatever you have anyway -- the past lessons stay active the whole time. Do try to do some pre-homework and see first chapters of the DVD before he gets neutered though.
Silvia, I am going to take the foundation with my new puppy “Hoot”. I already took this class with Tangle. Should I sign up as a repeater?
Mary
Yes. See you in class!
Muffin and I are SO excited to get started on this class! He is all grown up now, not the small fluffy puppy from puppy/tricks class 😀
Hi Silvia,
what is the minimum length of the tunnel, for exercise in this class :)? I would like to join with my little cavalier girl and now we have only 3 meters long tunnel, it’s Ok?
It’s great when the tunnel is long enough to be curved… -- but we can work around it also if it’s not, so not let that stop you 🙂
Nadia will only be 6 months on Oct 6.. can i still register for the class?
Yes -- that’s close enough to 6 months! See you in class!
Dear Sylvia
Feeling embarrassed that we haven’t put together Popcorns puppy graduation video
I sure hope you put it together, she was such a good student! But you can join Foundations nevertheless if that was your question 🙂
Yes she is a great student -- I’m the problem.
Yes want to join but both dogs -- to post videos but Apollo repeater -- so confirming if it’s 240 to pay ?
Will post grad video -- that’s on top of my very long to do list
Yes, that’s correct. See you in class!
I audited the previous foundations class. Can I sign up as a repeater and will I be able to post videos? 🙂
Yes.
