Running Contacts

For more on running contacts, it's best to join running contacts class or get a Running Contacts DVD. This page is meant for those who just have a quick question or want to show their finished product - you are very welcome to do so, it still brings a smile to my face when I see a beautiful running contact, it's something addictive about it. It is on times frustrating as well... -  but it all makes the end result even sweeter. So... Happy training, everybody!

Hi Silvia, some of Jones DW from last weekend. Amazing he has yet to miss at a trial! 😀 He is a little high and sometimes maybe questionable for USDAA, this video is AKC, but I am working now on trying to get him deeper in training and I think that will come with more time. Out of 90+ dogs he was .03 seconds from 1st place on one run and 2nd or 3rd in all his other runs. Once he gets more comfortable with his DW at trials I think he will come in 1st pretty often. 😀
At our small local trials he is often beat by one super fast sheltie, but the last trial video I showed you he beat her that day!!

Great! Really cool confidence and striding for a retrain already! A bit deeper would be safer, but this sure looks really cool already! Yay for all the placements, definitely many more to come! 🙂

Cool -- try to race her more though to get even more extension + fading the target will be easier once she figures out running with you is just as fun!

    Hi Siliva!
Me and Jumper took your RC class during the summer. We didn’t finish the class in time. Jumper was only 6 month when we started and he needed some more time. But we have continued to train and today for the first time we tired a full hight balance in a completely new environment. And I’m so proud of my boy. Despite that the carpet does not give him a very good grip and there are a little to tight before and after the balance he makes it! And the balance is also new for him. Happy! And thanks for all your support during the class.

Cool!!! Not much room after at all, so he sure did great! Tunnels are great for use in limited spaces, so you could set a curved tunnel into each corner to give him more room to run.

Hi Silvia, yesterday We did two running A -Frame sessions, but were bad… Samba began good but after some tries she began not touching the zone, and she is not running with her head down…
What I’m doing wrong? What can I do? She was running beautiful last time

I see no other problem as that you need to adjust the starting spot to get the hits… Try to get some 3 hit hits as well as 4 hits is quite unrealistic to maintain on speedy approaches I think.

Hi Silvia!! Your puppy is really cute 🙂 this is our training from today first session at 75cm, samba is doing only 2 strides, that is good? I tried to put her closer and she is doing 2 strides too.

    Thanks for your help

3 hits is fine, 2 hits isn’t. Raise it more so she can’t do 2. Include slow motion only.
