my videos, To, trials

It's sooo much fun to run with little To again, so I have to share her last two trials videos 🙂 She had best time in almost all of these runs - definitely always giving it all! Please excuse the changing light in 2nd trial, but that trial was from 7pm to 7am, so... First 3 courses are from Petr Pupik, last 2 from Tomaš Glabazna.

To - recent trials

And some extra explanations on To's toe. So - the toe is not any better as it was and will stay unstable because of specifics of that injury. But the good thing is that it's not painful at all, so we actually never had a problem because of the toe as such. The problem is that unstable weight-bearing toe means the weight distribution and the use of that leg is a bit different and that can throw them off balance - and in her case, caused tightness/soreness in her shoulder.

However, it seems like her body is getting used to it  - AND, lots of conditioning to keep her shoulder strong + regular massages to release the tightness if there is any, really make a big difference for her.

The reason we are not amputating the toe is that the toe is not painful and even though it's unstable, it still offers more support as no toe, so it's still better as no toe.

And as long as the rest of the body is not suffering because of it, she can continue to have a pretty normal life. I do limit crazy running though - and that includes agility as well of course. So we do very minimal training and trialing - this year, we'll only be running qualifications, EO, WC and a couple of extra one day trials this summer/autumn for puppy socialization reasons. But we decided to skip Moravia Open and other trials with many runs.

To sure is super happy both to get to run again and also to tame my crazy puppy. - Not that she looks particularly tamed in that photo though... 🙂
