Graduation Puppy April 2016

This is it! The class is ending today, but this page will stay open for ever and you can post your graduation videos at any point. But it's best to hurry up since gathering of "like"s starts whenever it's posted. Whoever has the biggest number of likes (only "likes" on this website count - those given directly on YouTube and Facebook don't count to make it easier to track) by August 18th gets a free next class of their choice :) - And the next three get a free download link to a training video of their choice!

Looking forward to see all those talented pups graduate!!! - And of course, to see them in August RC and October Foundations!!! 🙂

Here is our graduation video. I had wanted to shoot new footage showing where we are right now with the tricks but, well, that just didn’t happen! 🙂 So I used old clips from class but it’s kind of fun to see Toko as a wee pup too! 🙂 I can’t believe he was ever that small!!!

Thank you, Silvia, for this wonderful class!!! And thank you for making it possible for Toko to come live in Maine!!! I ADORE this amazing boy!!! 🙂

Thank you, classmates!!! It’s been great watching your videos and reading comments! Hope to see you in future classes!

    @ Kathy:
How great is that?! You mastered the piggybank trick with real coins, no need for the fisherprice one… so very, very cool!!
And I love Toko picking up the bottle to hug it. So sweet!

    • Kathy August 1, 2016 at 17:27 Log in to Reply

Thanks, Sandra! 🙂 Haha, well both Toko & Zephyr think the Fisher Price piggybank is WAY harder!!! 🙂 I think it’s because they can’t target their nose first to get the larger discs in the slot. Plus, they are very used to putting objects into low containers and the FP piggybank is much bigger/higher than they’re used to. How did you start training this with your Aussie??? Thanks again!

      • Sandra August 5, 2016 at 10:25 Log in to Reply

We started putting the coins in a plastik bucket. Then I put a lid on the bucket and cutted a big slot in the lid. Next I minimized the slot and we switched to the piggybank. Peppers biggest challenge was the swelling around the slot. On the lid she could slide the coin, with the swelling around she had to hit the slot directly. That was really difficult and needed a lot of repetitions. Initial I helped a bit and leaded with my hand.

        • Kathy August 8, 2016 at 13:13 Log in to Reply

Thanks, Sandra! We’ll try that! Yeah, that green lip around the slot is definitely tough, plus it seems like they have to pick up the ‘coin’ just by the edge so it hangs vertically in order to slide it into the slot! Huge challenge there too! I’m in awe of Pepper’s precision with the pick up and getting it into the slot!!! Amazing!!!
