Bu, EO 2012 winner!!!
We're back! - With great news: BU WON EUROPEAN OPEN 2012!!! To make it even better, it was a double win for Slovenia, cik&cap and running contacts, with my friend Polona on the 2nd place!!!
Bu is my third dog to win this great event, after Lo in 2002 and La in 2006! What makes it special is her story - see My sweet autistic Bu post. She used to be so scared that when we were still training at the club, we needed to wait for everybody to leave and could only train then, so we mostly only trained in dark - so EO finals are when she runs best as she still seems to believe that everybody leaves after dark and it's safe then - despite all the crowd and lights! 🙂
This is her winning run:
Actually, all 4 dogs did GREAT, they all finished on a podium, La and Le in team part and Bi was 2nd in individual agility. I was very happy with Bi's performance, she got a bit excited about her dog-walk and did a HUGE run out after already in agility individual and then an even bigger one in finals - and still had great times! That 2nd place was really unexpected! And just one big circle is not bad at all for the wild child 🙂
La qualified for both finals and ran 5/6 clean runs, with one run with a called see-saw... And she was definitely setting great times for an almost-11-year old!
Here is her finals run:
I was also very happy to see little Le add even more speed in trials too - it made getting through courses harder, but hey, my little puppy won team jumping run with ease despite I was handling it a safe way since our team needed another clean run! And then our team finished 2nd in team finals! Unfortunately, she didn't get to individual finals, qualifying runs were simply scheduled too early for me to focus. I think agility should never be run before noon and all important runs should be run after dark - more fair to us, low blood pressure people! 🙂
- With big thanks to agilityonline.se for the videos and Anja Troha and Olga Maniewska for the photos! - More videos coming soon!
Welcome back, Silvia! Congratulations on all your beautiful runs! I am especially happy for your win with sweet Bu! 🙂 I think once again you proved, apart from great physical skills, speed and perfect coordination, your huge trust in your dogs, which I think, not only comes from the awareness of them being trained to perfection, but also reflects your big love and respect for them and trust in their cleverness….Thanks for being such an inspiration! 🙂
Thanks. I do respect and love them for who they are!
Hehe I watched agility finals with Bu and I had to stop the video after DW… she did WHAT?! Rewind… yep, blind cross after DW! And Bu was like “we do this all the time” 🙂 Congratulations on amazing success with all four girls.
PS: I would definitely support the rule of no agility runs before afternoon. Evening is best 🙂
You can always get there if you believe you can! I did chicken out with Bi though -- and learned the lesson NOT to do that again! 🙂
Great results Silvia! I watched some of EO on live streaming and I got to see some of your runs… Bu’s final and agility team runs were unbelivable, it seemed like she already knew the course, she was perfect… I remember when I got to your other website, I read old posts and when Bu turned 3 you wrote that if she was so improved in 3 years, in other 3 she would have been perfect… looks like you were actually right 😉
And how about your hiking in norway? any picture? I guess norway’s nautre is marvellous…
Yes, Bu likes to be perfect 🙂 I guess Efficient is her middle name 🙂 Working on the videos from EO right now, will gather some hiking pictures too. We didn’t take many though, we were mostly too wet, too cold or too tired. The nature is sure gorgeous, but the weather… Hm. We didn’t have not even one day completely withut rain…
Thank you all!
Supercongrats to you and your fantastic dogs!! Your girls ability to go from top speed to the tightest turns possible is marvellous!
BIG HUGS to your girls and to you 🙂 !!! so, so happy for you !!!
Congratulations, Silvia! This harmony between you and your dogs -- GREAT!!!
breathtaking… that’s what your results are with all your dogs. congratulations! stay the inspiration you are for all of us 🙂
