Speed&Conditioning

It's finally out! My 5th training DVD, on SPEED this time: Ready-Steady-GO! - or 33 Tips for More Speed! The DVD is 1h45min long and has 5 chapters, addressing Conditioning, Attitude, Games to play, dealing with Stress and making Agility training more about running.

Speed was always our favorite topic and having the fifth dog who is constantly setting best times of all jump heights and holding a record of setting best time on World Championships for 20 times (and even more times on EO) probably means we have something important to tell 🙂

I definitely recommend this DVD to all who feel their dog could still run even faster or deal with motivational or stress issues. You'll also learn a lot on my approach to agility and philosophy behind the training that makes them just as fast as they are - and a lot on conditioning that keeps them that fast that LONG! This DVD will also give you a good look into our everyday life as well as our agility trainings. So no, it's not just for dogs with speed issues! For me, it's actually the most important pre-agility step and we follow the 33 Tips all the time. And oh, it's mostly taken in beautiful Corsica mountains! 🙂

    Hi Silvia,
We graduated from your Puppy II class and as I had all your DVDs then when we graduated, I chose to wait for your next DVD. Is it possible to get a hardcopy of your new DVD? Would you like me to pay anything extra relating to postage or price difference? I am keen to watch your new DVD especially the section dealing with stress and attitude……….. 🙂

Well, I really would like to buy this DVD -- even would it be for the pictures alone -- but I think we have to put some money aside first. Maybe my dearest Yoshi could help me … 😉

By the way, do you address barking in the attitude part?

    • Alice November 28, 2011 at 19:07 Log in to Reply

Cool trick! Have to try this with my two, but I’m worried they could swallow the coin… Maybe with something bigger! By the way, what bred is Yoshi? He is really cute!

      • Bea November 28, 2011 at 20:08 Log in to Reply

Yoshi is a crossbreed of two rescue dogs. So nobody really knows. His mom looks a little bit like a Hovawart-Mix and his dad could be an old-german sheepdog (Harzer Fuchs)-Mix. I always say he is an herding-watch-dog-mix and has the best out of the best.

Very cute! 🙂 And yes, I do address barking too, it’s very good for teaching them the right attitude! 🙂

Silvia, I too did the Puppy I class as a participant complete with silly graduation video and did not get a video. Any chance I could get this new one? Speed is definitely what I’m looking for with Spur.

    thanks,
    Mary & Spur

Your video is awesome! I lOVE the emphasis you put on conditioning. My dog is fast but I still got great ideas to keep his speed.

    Hi Sylvia,

sounds like a dvd just for me!! I have a dog who isn’t very fast, but getter better bit by bit. She is a very sensitive dog, who is sometime a bit nervous at competitions.
However, I have one question. Is this dvd also fit for a dog who is only interested in food? She doesn’t play with toys (never learned it, I have her since she is 6 years old). I am busy teaching hear to play with toys, but I don’t think she will ever love it so much that it wil encourage her to run faster or anything like that. So is this dvd fit for me, even if I have a foodmotivated dog?

    • LoLaBu December 4, 2011 at 15:05 Log in to Reply

Sure. Most not-full-speed dogs are only motivated by food, so we are discussing this a lot, giving lots of suggestion on how to transfer the love to food into the love for toys AND how to work without it, with just food, meantime.

okay. Thanks. Than I think I will buy the dvd soon 🙂 whenever I’ve got my paycheck 😉

I love this dvd!!! Since I got it my dogs have got 2 hours of exercise a day every day and as much as possible off leash. I can allready see a difference in their energy-levels. Don’t get me wrong, they were never over weight, I just got myself in a routine of walking them less (because of rain, darkness and a ton of other excuses…) and because they were losing muzzle and getting lazier they did not seem to need much more exercise and gave me a false impression of that I would walk them enough. Today on our one hour morning walk in the woods Terra got zoomies 😀 He hasn’t had zoomies since he was a little pup but he just ran back and forth for no reason what so ever, it made my day truly 🙂

The happy tricks are really helping Leevi in agility, he was much faster in agilityclass on thursday, everybody noticed it so I’m not just imagining it :). Terra also really likes the happy tricks, I think he is more confident when he does them and I am using them on our walks when he is getting a bit nervous and I know if I can get him barking then he is suddenly much better. I also used to deal with strange poeple and dogs by asking for a sit and eye contact but he was definitely stressing down so now I’m using happy tricks for that too.

Happy to hear that!!! Thank you for your feedback Lotta! Sounds like you’re on the right way and that Leevi and Terra are having some great fun!
