= 12 weeks of feedback + 2 weeks of a break in between
- minimal equipment needed: 4 jumps, 2 tunnels, Foundations Revisited DVD, channel and see-saw (if working on weaves&see-saw as well)
- appropriate for all levels, total beginners to experienced dogs who could use better turns, more independence or speed
This class follows Foundations Revisited DVD. This is why the format has been changed from the original Foundations Fun class program:
What is different is the order, the emphasis, and the exercises and I also added some new topics, so the transition to Xtreme Foundations should be super smooth - this class certainly doesn't lack in providing MANY challenges. And definitely covers many topics!
This class is appropriate for all levels, from total beginners from 7 months on - and also for experienced agility dogs - I promise to keep everybody challenged!!! All feedback completely individual.
Minimum equipment needed: 2 tunnels, 4 jumps and if you want to work on see-saw and weaves as well: see-saw and stick to the ground and/or channel weaves (ideally both!). + Foundations Revisited DVD of course.
Topics covered: play, fetching, static toys, stays, restrains, warm ups and cool downs, tight turns, sends, pushes, threadles and serpentines, come to hand, verbal discrimination, obstacle discrimination, tunnel sends, traps and turns (hard and soft turns), extension and collection, different crosses and handling, see-saw, weaves, tire, long, double and wall jump, how to choose sequences and adjust them to your dog, how to handle mistakes and more.
We'll be starting with the first homework on October 10, but you can register and enter the classroom already now.
Some graduation videos examples:
Video length limitation per lesson is 10 minutes per lesson (in total that means 60 min in 12 weeks of the class).
The class has 6 lessons, one every 2 weeks = 12 weeks of feedback (+ 2 weeks of a catch-up break in between).
Repeaters price is for those who took Foundation before with the SAME dog.

Hello Sylvia, I am interested in taking the next Foundation classes starting on August 28, I already have a DVD called “Foundations Fun!” purchased last year, it is the same DVD for this classes?
Thanks,
Eli
Yes, that’s the dVD you need, so you can just choose 2nd payment option once it opens.
I’m trying to sign up for foundation class, but the link won’t open. I already have the DVD.
Yes, that’s because August class registration wasn’t open till now. But it is now, so it should all work now 🙂 See you in class!
Hi -- Im buying my first tunnel for this class. Does it matter whether I get a 10′ or 15′ or a 20′? Am I better off getting two shorter lengths instead of a 20′? Thanks so much.
Yes, I would go for 2 rather as one long one. Maybe 10′ and 15′ as 15′ is easier to curve.
Hi Silvia I’m thinking of doing your foundation course with my young (nearly 2 yo) border collie. What holds me back a little bit is that I’ve only had him for 4 mo and his previous life was quite deprived (living in an apartment with no stimulation except for what he found to do for himself). He came to me pretty much untrained and with no physical conditioning. He’s coming along and is learning how to learn but is still quite cautious about trying new things. I just want to be sure he is mentally and physically ready to take on more, and this wouldn’t be too much too soon. I’m thinking it would actually be good since puppies do this course but I thought I would ask for your thoughts. Thanks! I could always wait until the next intake if you felt he needed a little more time.
Yes, hard to say what would be better, Foundations or Puppy Class first… You could try Foundations, see how the 1st lesson goes and then decide to either continue or you can still switch to October PUpy Class instead then.
Hi Silva! I have a Papillon puppy that will be 6 months old at 19/09, would we be able to do this class or do you think it’s better to wait for the next one?
Hi Silvia! I have a Papillon puppy that will be 6 months at 19/09, do you think we could do this class now or I better wait a litte and do puppy class first?
Thank you
Yes, it’s a bit limit age, so you can either start, but take it easy and not aim for mastering it all (most people take it twice to master it all anyway) -- OR do Puppy Class first, start with some very basics on your own and then finish it up in the class.
My puppy is currently 7.5months. Would it be ok to start with foundations? Or would you recommend doing puppy first? Many thanks
Hi Silvia,
Can I use my username and e-mail from the last foundation class? I have paid for the new class starting august 28.
Regards,
Julie & Choice
Yes of course -- it would be automatic if you were logged in when paying, but no problem, I fixed it now.
Hi Silvia, if I don’t take this foundation class when will the next one start please?
Thanks Sarah
Next Foundations will start end of March.
Hi Silvia, I am thinking of joining this class with Nutty. We are about a month late but I was hoping it might still be ok to join? Or we can wait for the next class? What is your thoughts. Kind Regards, Taryn 🙂
Hm, yes, you missed some weeks of feedback by now, so it’s up to you to decide… Next class starts beginning of April, if that helps any with your decision on what would work better for you two…
