Happy birthday Super Midget!

4 years! - And still surprising me with her intelligence and ability to read my mind! She actually knows less tricks as my other dogs and is not super quick with learning tricks - but is certainly showing amazing "normal life" and "agility" intelligence - to the degree she sometimes looks like a little human 🙂

One evening, when working behind computer, my feet got cold and I wanted to put socks on, but could only find one in the pile of clothes, so I gave up, left the one I found there and got back to work. The dogs were all sleeping around - and the next thing I know, Le jumps on a backside of a sofa (her usual spot to sleep as it's the closest to my desktop) and drops a sock in my lap. I was sure she must had seen me picking up that sock and fetched it, so I just smiled and said "I know little midget, but I need the other one, I found that one". Something on her disappointed face was telling me I'm not giving her enough credit though, so I looked back - and the sock I found was still on that pile! - She actually went, looked up for the missing sock and brought it to me! I was beyond impressed - my other dogs would never do something like that, without being trained to do it!

But that's just the way she is. She just knows things. - Like where to go when she leaves me somewhere in the dust on agility course. She sure is the most agility-talented dog I've ever had. - I guess she must have grown a pair of wings in addition to those 4 springy legs as the times she is setting are really pretty amazing.

Stay just as brilliant, my Super Midget!

Silvia, I have seen many great clicker trainers in 20 years, but nobody quite like you. You seem to be always training with your emotions and heart; that makes you so special and your dogs, too! 🙂

Thanks 🙂 And yes, for us, dog training is not science -- it’s just fun 🙂

    Happy Birthday, Le!
The story about Le sounds like something Vigo might do, some of them are really psychic. My first ever clicker session with him was like this: I planned to teach him to bring me a little basket and I wanted to do it using pure shaping (click for looking at the basket, coming closer etc…). I put the basket on the floor, let Vigo in the room, he went, picked the basket, came to me and sat with the basket in his mouth… I have dozens of stories like that, he is a bit scary ;).

It’s funny as she is really very relaxed and calm dog in the house -- but yes, when it comes to running, she always has a master plan! 🙂

Hope you had a great day, little super Le! But you always look like your whole life is a big party anyway 😀
