Happy birthday Bi!

Remember when I said that if Bu were human, she would be mathematician and if Le were human, she would be an actress?

Well, if Bi were human, she would be in jail. Despite being Bu's niece, she is everything Bu isn't: meaning driven, powerful and bold - but also with no will to please, not caring about doing things right and actually often doing things wrong on purpose to attract attention. - Like she never destroys or steals anything when left home alone - but will often do it when we're home to attract attention.

In the era when dog training was based on corrections, she would certainly be called untrainable. I did try to correct her when she crashed really hard into Bu on purpose, just because she thought it was fun - and she thought it's pretty funny as well. She certainly never heard of words soft and sensitive - what helped me appreciate Bu much more 🙂 I actually wanted a dog who wouldn't be as soft and sensitive as Bu - but it taught me to be careful about what I wish for! Bi, hm... - she just doesn't care about things. Already in puppy testing at 7 weeks, she failed pain sensitivity test - she didn't react to tester's pinching at all, so he eventually gave up to not seriously hurt a puppy... She can run by the fence, open up all her ribs and not even notice. We also sewed her up without any medications and she didn't even blink...

Nothing makes Bi blink... She thinks everything is just a joke. - Certainly not a dog who would pay attention to details 🙂 I guess that's what I need to thank to for her amazing generalization skills though. Starting new tricks with her can sometimes be difficult and painful (literally as she likes to slam around with her paws!), but once she gets the idea, you can take it to whatever level without her even noticing 🙂 - Like once I got her to run on a plank or run through a wide channel... - she never noticed it got raised/closed and was the fastest of all my dogs to master RC and weaves. What's the difference between a plank and a DW anyway, right!

I'm lucky to have Bi as I would have too many dogs if she didn't keep me busy and challenged enough by just being Bi. She is actually pretty well trained by now and can run any course, but she tends to forget things she doesn't like... - In like a week. We had to revisit turns after DW, coming to hand and not knocking million times already and she will still behave like she knows nothing about it if I don't keep reminding her at all times. - Not so easy as she gets tired quickly, so our training needs to be kept short. Unlike Bu, my marathon dog who can go on&on for ever without ever getting tired, Bi is my sprinter dog who gives it all in one minute and is then done for hours.

But well, it's definitely always a thrill to run Bi, she sure taught me a lot, keeps me challenged at all times and makes me feel I have 5 more dogs as I do! 🙂 Happy 5th birthday Bi! Feel free to feel and behave like you're still 5 months though! - Life would certainly be way too boring without you and your "life is fun" grin!
