15 Apr 2013
11 Comments

O.k., so Running Contacts registration should open tomorrow, BUT since Foundation class is really keeping me too busy, we'll have to move RC class to June... Registration will now open on May 21, with the class starting on June 17.

I better go try to catch up on all the comments now! 🙂

Boohoohoohoo I’ve been counting down the days to RC class! But I do understand, so will wait patiently for 21 May and then 17 June. 🙂

Same here! We’ll just have to work by our selves and looking forward to class starting in june instead 🙂

Oh no! No seriously, that’s probably a good idea ;-). I will start with running on flat A-frame and carpet in the meantime. Just a question: if she runs very well on flat A-frame can I change over to flat plank of dog walk width? I won’t be able to raise the dog walk at all, really. That’s why I thought that I perhaps could switch to dog walk plank before starting to raise it… Might that work?

I usually only go to narrow plank once it’s raised and makes more sense to the dog to stay on… But if you can get her to run full speed on flat narrow board, that’s fine as well of course.

Oh no! I will be big and fat with belly like the baloon!!! How much running will be necessary? Will we be able to manage it in my 4th -- 8th month?

Well, it really depends a lot on how you will feel… Some can’t and then another student was working on both RC and foundations pretty much till the day the baby was born 🙂

Yeah, sorry, but I simply couldn’t keep up with another class at this point…

Good call. You gotta look out for yourself Sylvia! I’m always amazed at how you DO manage to keep up with all the comments in classes and maintain your ability to remember details about all the dogs and postings listed! You make sure everybody has a quality experience. Kudos to you!

Thanks! 🙂 I’m sometimes surprised myself too how can I remember all the dogs! 🙂

Oh nooo 😛 Well, so I need to ask yo something about my training with Brahma, the little sheltie. (its only a short question).
She is doing full DW at almost 1 meter of height. We have already done more than 3 sessions with good percentage of success. I stayed a little longer on this step because I couldnt train very often lately and I was looking for deeper hits. Last session was very cool.
Now the thing is that our DW at full heigh is actually a little bit more than 1, 20.. It’s something like 1,27 cm And I have no way to do an intermediate step between 1 meter and 1, 27.. Do you think i should try full height already or is it too much difference ? (I always raised the DW adding 10-15 cm only..).

    Thanks!! 🙂

Well -- just try and see! Normally, it’s no problem, but if she will struggle too much, we can always try to find another way.
