Long-distance classes proved to work GREAT, better as any seminar, as I can provide feedback on the whole training process. So I actually limited the seminars and in-live classes and privates as the on line classes got so popular and are giving such great results! So where ever you are, you are welcome to join in the fun! We’re offering puppy/tricks class, advanced tricks class, agility foundations, agility handlingrunning contacts and Graduates Only classes – with my comments to each and every video or question posted. You can register bellow, each class has a participant and auditing option. The difference is that auditors don’t post their videos (but can ask questions and see all videos and discussions). As I always promote learning, you keep an access to the classes you register for ever, so you can always come back to review the material again.

Puppy/Tricks class

is designed especially for future agility dogs as it promotes development of physical and mental skills, it helps puppies to learn how to learn, how to use their mind and bodies, builds very good body awareness, balance and strength. But it’s not only beneficial for puppies, but also active agility dogs or retired dogs to keep them busy, fit and young.

Every 14 days, you will get a new to-do list with things to teach, you get 6 lists in total, so this class is 3 months long. Participants post videos (max. 10 minutes per lesson) of their training sessions and I give suggestions on how to take things further or make them better and everybody is welcome to add their ideas and ask questions, also auditors.

Here are some videos of previous students to get better idea on what it is all about:

At the moment, you can only register as an auditor to past (February) class and then enter the classroom. Next Puppy Class will start in December/January.

Please make sure your are registered and logged in before you proceed to paying with paypal – this will ensure you will get your correct access automatically.

Agility Foundations

This class is appropriate for dogs over 6 months, from total beginners to dogs competing at the highest levels who could still use better turns, more independence or speed. We have all different levels in this class as we adjust the exercises for each team to keep everybody challenged. Our major focus will be teaching great cik&cap in order to get tight turns, great distance skills, sends and collection all at the same time, putting it in sequences to make it even more fun for the dogs and to practise some basic handling. We’ll also be addressing speed&motivation issues. Other than that, we’ll be starting with weaves, see-saw and contacts, but you can also work on just cik&cap and sequencing in case you don’t have access to contacts. For this class, you need at least 3 (even better 5) jumps and a tunnel or, even better, two. You’ll get 6 assignments, every 2 weeks, so this class is 12 weeks long.

This time, we’re making it even better by making Foundation Fun DVD part of it. So the price might look higher, but if you already have a DVD, the price is actually lower now as I’m guessing teaching the class will get much easier now with the help of the video.

We’ll address all the topics addressed in Foundations video + see-saw and weaves:

You can at this point only join as an auditor for past, October class and then enter the classroom. Next class will start on September 29 – registration opens September 1st.

Handling Class

is meant for those finishing Foundation class and everybody else who want to do some sequence/course work. You’ll be given 8 courses all together (2 on same set-up, every 3 weeks). The courses consists of all obstacles, but it’s no problem if you don’t have all or your dog can’t do them all just yet as you can always either break it in parts or exchange one obstacle for another. I’ll always give you two normal, about 20 obstacles courses, but break it down in shorter sequences for those who are just starting, so all levels are welcome. The courses we’ll run are those that I set for my own dogs and for my handling classes and there will always be a video of my dogs running those courses too.

Handling classes have an open registration and no time limitations, meaning that you can register at any point and post your videos whenever you want, no time limitations and you keep an access to all the discussions and videos. Handling I is a bit easier and has a bit shorter courses and Handling II has longer and trickier courses. But you can start with one or another (and both offer plenty of challenges :) ).

Here is what we do in Handling Class:

Running Contacts Class

covers training running contacts from a scratch, but also those, further in the process are more than welcome to join, I’m sure we can fill some holes there might have been in the training so far. You will all be posting videos of wherever in a training process you are as I think most of our participants have already done some plank work. The purpose of the class is to address the whole process step by step, giving you immediate feedback to your videos and offer problem solving when needed.

You will get 5 to-do lists, one every three weeks, so this class goes on for 4 months (with 2-week break in between), so that’s enough time to get from a flat plank to a full dog-walk and also address the turns. To participate in this class, you need a plank (3.8m for FCI or 12 feet for US), enough room (minimally 15m) and a video camera. At last steps, you will also need an access to full size dog-walk, let’s say at least two to three times a week (depending on how much in a hurry you are :) ). If you’re joining with a puppy, you will complete the process later on, but you’re welcome to start off the right way with us if your puppy is at least 5 months for smaller breeds or 6 for BC size.

To audit, you don’t need anything :) As an auditor, you see all the videos and comments and can ask questions, but only participants post videos and get feedback on their videos.

To really make the class as good as possible, I decided that all participants get a package of Running Contact video + 15 weeks of feedback. I believe that will make the class even better as you will get a really good picture on what to work towards right at the start and then we can really focus on each dog rather as discussing general questions. Because RC video is included, the price is a bit higher, BUT if you already have a DVD, the price is actually LOWER as it was (as I’m expecting to have much less work explaining everything! :) ).

At this point, you can only join as an auditor for past, December 2013 RC class, and then enter the classroom. Next class will start in November/December 2014.

Please make sure your are registered and logged in before you proceed to paying with paypal - this will ensure you will get your correct access automatically.

Graduates Only Class

On special wish of Foundations students who took many classes already, I’m opening a new class for LoLaBuLand Graduates Only. The class has no program and is open for all the videos, questions, problems and brags graduates might have. You are also welcome to post course maps for others to run etc. I’ll be commenting and trying to advise as in any other class, only that here, there is no official program – it’s all on you :) The idea behind the class is to stay in contact and provide feedback also now that the dogs are really well trained already.

The class is open for all who took at least 4 classes as a participant. There is a yearly subscription to the class and it’s an on-going class on open registration, meaning you can register any time and post any time, but need to renew the subscription after one year.

Graduates Only class 1st dog 160 EUR
Graduates Only class 2nd dog 110 EUR

And then you can enter the classroom here.

Coming next: Foundations in September, RC in November/December, Puppy in December/January. Handling Classes, Advanced Tricks and Graduates Only have open registration, meaning you can register and post any time you want, no time restrictions.

    Awesome thanks :) :)

  2. Agata

Hi, Silvia, we would like to join to the graduated only class :) I have sent you e-mail :) I am waiting for paypal :) Sorry but I can not wait!!!! :)

    • LoLaBu

When I’m at a trial whole weekend, waiting is the only option -- sorry :) Still catching up, finally got to your mail now…

  3. Pam Lane

Hi Silvia -- I’m in your Puppy Class February and have misunderstood the dates the comments were to close :) The last list we got was May 6 and I thought your instructions …
“You again have 2 weeks more to post videos for comments and suggestions for improvements (+ 2 weeks of a break to work on it on your own). Then, I will open a new, “graduation page” and this will be your very last assignment:”
… meant we could post until May 18 and then we would have a two week break (until 2 June), then the graduation page would open. Today I see the comments have closed so can you please confirm the date the graduation page will open -- and how long it will be open for. I am looking forward to posting my graduation video and don’t want to miss out as I was very disappointed today when I realised my chance for another week’s feedback had finished.

    • LoLaBu

Your chance for another week of feedback didn’t finish :) -- see the introduction page where all the dates are published :) The break is from May 11-25, then you have your week from May 25-June 2 and then the graduation page opens and never closes. Hope that helps :)

      • Pam Lane

Thanks for clarifying that Silvia :)

  4. Iris Jakobi

    Hi Silvia,
we would like to join your next Foundations class with our new puppy. Her name is Luna and she would be 6,5 months old then. :-)
Just a question about the price: My sister Sandra would participate with her, but we will do this together again (she taped Holly in 99 % of all our videos so far and watched your DVD’s ;-) ). I would help her and I would write for her in class, because my english is a little bit better. Would it be 150 or 100 EUR in this case? She would like to know how much money she has to save. :-)

    • LoLaBu

O.k., she can enter as a repeater, but I think prices will go up a bit as Foundation class is really a lot of work for me (much more as other classes).

      • Iris Jakobi

Yes, this class is huge!! :-)
Thank you! I will tell her!

  5. Angi Buettner

Silvia, do classes taken with/as 2nd dog count towards the four classes necessary to join your graduates only class?

    • LoLaBu

It’s normally per dog… Some less are fine for the 2nd dog, but for 1st dog, it should be 4… -- at least 3 + 1 with another dog if all are participant spots.

      • Angi Buettner

        Thank you for your reply.
It would be really great if I could get the 3+1 with another dog option, then. I’ve done puppy class and foundations with my first dog, so could take another class with her (might be advanced tricks or RC). Or would Handling class with her count? With my other dog I have done puppy class as 2nd dog and am intending to enrol her in Foundations in September as 2nd dog.

  6. Kseniya Avimova

    Hi Silvia,
does the Agility Foundation class mean webinars or may be skype consulting — or just text feedback on participants’ video?

    • LoLaBu

All the classes are like forums, with written responses to all the videos and questions, so all the material is available at all times (participants are from all over the world, so…). So far, nobody ever complained about not sufficient feedback/info :)

      • Kseniya Avimova

Thank you for the answer, Silvia. My friend who wants to participate but doesn’t speak English well worries if the course communication is supposed to be live. Well, if it’s forum like he has no reasons to worry. :)

        • LoLaBu

Yes, it’s very friendly to people with more basic English and with various day schedules :)

  7. ryan arenson

Hi Silvia. Thank you for your beautiful and inspiring work. My Brussels Griffon is a little over one years old. We are beginners but very keen on learning and competing in agility. We do also partake in a dog dancing school. If you do not mind, I would like to please ask you what the difference between learning via the puppy trick online course (as an auditor) and the tricks dvd would be? Would like to do whatever is best for Balthus. Thank you. Regards. Ryan (from South Africa).

    • LoLaBu

Oh, there are many differences :) DVDs shows you how and then you’re left on your own and in a class, I’m giving constant and immediate feedback on all the videos posted. However, there won’t be another puppy class till January, so your two options are actually DVDs vs. auditing past class -- so no feedback option until January… What to choose mostly depends on what you prefer -- surfing through material of the class, watching videos of others and my comments to them (that’s what classes are based on) or watch a DVD where “how to” is shown in more detail as in class “to do” list, BUT doesn’t give so much trouble shooting as you can get if you take the time to read through all the comments in a class. I think a class gives more info BUT only if you take the time to go through it -- and it can take a while…

  8. Steffi

    Hi Silvia -

How do I enter the Handling classroom? I’m signed in and when I click on ‘enter the classroom’ it brings me right back to this page.

  9. Steffi

Okay -- if I go to the ‘Former Classes’ page from the drop down menu I can get to my Foundations classroom by clicking on the course I have taken. Now the problem is is that I can’t get into the Handling classroom.

    • LoLaBu

Sorry about that, seems like some of the recent accesses were lost in the process. I just gave you the access again, so it should work now.
