Sloppy The Pig

puppy class, students' videos, tricks

Sloppy The Pig is the guest star of our March Puppy Class. He is just so cute that I just needed to post his videos. Thanks John! In this first video, you can see how important it is to keep reinforcement rate high, especially when the dog (or a pig!) doesn't know the system just yet. His focus improved magically when the criteria got easier to understand for a puppy pig:

Sloppy the pig 4-7-11

Slower is always faster! - The more you want, the more likely you lose the dog - and happier you are with little things, faster you will get to big things!

And here is Sloppy 2 weeks later:

That’s awesome! I’ve heard pigs are smart and this proves it or maybe it just proves how well clicker training works. Lol, probably both! Now I want to see pig agility. 😀

Do I dare to say that Sloppy might be cuter than a puppy? 🙂

I think he is! So tiny and his pork feet moving so quick. 🙂

Truly inspirational. I thought training a terrier was a challenge. The video clips show with patience, positive attitude, and timely tasty rewards, training/learning is FUN and rewarding for handler and partner.
